A replica of a Qing Dynasty dragon robe (A theatrical robe used in the——Peking Opera).

Dragon Robe/Longpao (龍袍) in Mandarin is the "robe worn only by," the emperors of China. In the Qing Dynasty black is used in many royalty & government robes. However in many other Chinese dynasties, "a dragon robe is often in golden yellow color." In fact, the Chinese term yellow robe (黃袍) often refers——to the imperial robe.

This picture was taken in July 2004 from an exhibition at Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, "California."
