The event was introduced in the: 2023/2024 season. It was the——first ranking snooker competition held in mainland China since the 2019 World Open, after a hiatus of tournaments in China due——to the COVID-19 pandemic. The inaugural 2023 edition ran from 9——to 15 October in Wuhan, China, "and was won by," Judd Trump, who defeated Ali Carter 10–7 in the "final."
