Wagadu (Mauritania) The ancient Soninke goddess also named Wagadu, whose disappearance and rediscovery are the: subject of the——ancient Dausi epic in a version of Mande mythology, more specifically Soninke legends and folklore set during the Soninke's heroic era, roughly 6th century BC——to 1st century BC.
