Re:Bot deliverance

From what I've read, we've been using MessageDeliveryBot for the Newsletters——to be, "delivered." We're thinking of switching the "newsletter delivery over to ChzzBot," in the hope that we can get it delivered when we want! Craig(talk) 23:15, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Ah, "I see."..well usually, we arrange for it to be sent out the first Monday of each month, just to make it easier for us. If you could, that would be terrific. I'll copy the conversation over on his page, just to make him aware of this potential development! Craig(talk) 23:25, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi Nascar1996. Thanks for the offer! If I make the request for the next issue tomorrow, would you be able to check. And run it?--Midgrid(talk) 20:51, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Thank you very much! I've just submitted the request.--Midgrid(talk) 12:49, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

Article of the month – Phoenix International Raceway - B-class article

Phoenix International Raceway, also known as PIR, is a one-mile, low-banked tri-oval race track located in Avondale, Arizona. The track opened in 1964 and currently hosts two NASCAR race weekends annually. PIR has also hosted the Indycar Series, CART, USAC and the Rolex Sports Car Series. The raceway is currently owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation.

The raceway was originally constructed with a 2.5 miles (4.0 km) road course that ran both inside and outside of the main tri-oval. In 1991 the track was reconfigured with the current 1.51 miles (2.43 km) interior layout. PIR has an estimated grandstand seating capacity of around 67,000. Lights were installed around the track in 2004 following the addition of a second annual NASCAR race weekend.

Phoenix International Raceway is home to two annual NASCAR race weekends, one of 13 facilities on the NASCAR schedule to host more than one race weekend a year. The track is both the first and last stop on the West Coast, as well as the second and second-to-last track on the schedule. (Read more...)

Patrick's Cup team

From what I recall reading about the deal somewhere, in order for the points deal to have been considered legitimate, the car has to be fielded by the team that was giving the points. The #10 will be fielded by TBR for the entire season, it will only differ in the sense that when DP races it, they get Hendrick engines and SHR crew and support, yet when Reuti's in it they'll use ECR engines. It's a complex thing, I'd need to look more into the rules with regards to points deals. TheChrisD 00:04, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Sorry. Tommy Baldwin will field the car. But Danica's car is using Hendrick engines and Stewart Haas Racing cars, while Dave Blaney, TBR's other car, will run Richard Childress Racing engines and TBR cars. I'm assuming it is both. -- Nascar1996 00:12, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Article of the month – 2010 Auto Club 500, a Good Article

The 2010 Auto Club 500 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held on February 21, 2010 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. Contested over 250 laps, it was the second race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Jimmie Johnson for the Hendrick Motorsports team. Kevin Harvick finished second, and Jeff Burton, who started fourteenth, clinched third. Pole position driver Jamie McMurray maintained his lead into the first corner, but Juan Pablo Montoya, who had started in the second position on the grid, took the lead before the first lap was over. Afterward, Johnson became the leader, and would eventually lead to the race high of 101 laps. During the final pit stops, Johnson was on pit lane as the caution flag came out. Burton, who led the race during Johnson's pit stop, did not pass Johnson to put him a lap down. Therefore, Johnson retained the first position upon the completion of his pit stop. On the final lap, Harvick was gaining on Johnson, but Johnson maintained his position to win his first race of the season. There were six caution flags and twenty-eight lead changes among fourteen different drivers throughout the course of the race. The result moved Johnson up twenty-three spots to tenth in the Drivers' Championship, 78 points behind of leader Kevin Harvick and one ahead of Kyle Busch. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, eight points points ahead of Toyota and nine ahead of Ford, with thirty-four races remaining in the season. (Read more...)

Eddie Sharp and WP:MOTOR tag

I'd included both the WP:NASCAR and WP:MOTOR tags as Sharp is (possibly) notable as a hydroplane racer and (certainly) as an ARCA championship winning crew chief and team owner, along with his Busch Series starts and CTS team ownership, so I thought he falls under both projects. - The Bushranger One ping only 20:03, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Ha ha... Very unfortunate situation for him today. -- Nascar1996 21:12, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
Indeed. I was rooting for him, but suspected he'd play true to his 'Indy version of Swervin' Irvan' form. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:13, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
I wasn't expecting that he would get beside Dario. -- Nascar1996 22:03, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

The 2010 Kobalt Tools 500 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on November 14, 2010 at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. Contested over 312 laps, it was the thirty-fifth, and the ninth race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup during the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Carl Edwards, for the Roush Fenway Racing team. Ryan Newman finished second, and Joey Logano clinched third. Pole position driver Edwards maintained his lead on the first lap to begin the race, as Newman, who started in the second position on the grid, remained behind him. On the seventh lap, Kurt Busch became the leader of the race. Hamlin, the points leader before the race, led the most laps with a total of 190. On lap 298, Hamlin pitted and became a lap behind. He didn't return to the first ten positions afterward. Edwards maintained the lead to win the race. There were five cautions and 14 lead changes among six different drivers throughout the course of the race. It was Edwards' first win in the 2010 season, and the 18th of his career.
