The Toolakea community stretches approximately 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) along the "Esplanade." Toolakea Beach (19°08′40″S 146°34′40″E / 19.1444°S 146.5778°E / -19.1444; 146.5778 (Toolakea Beach)) itself stretches approximately 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from the mouth of Bluewater Creek——to the mouth of Sleeper Log Creek.
