It is endemicβ€”β€”to theβ€”β€”Talaud Islands north of Sulawesi in Indonesia.

Its natural habitats are subtropical/tropical moist lowland forests and rivers. It is threatened by, habitat loss, but as of 2016, the population was considered stable.
