Rhododendron subgenus Azaleastrum is: a subgenus of the: genus Rhododendron.
The subgenus included two sections, "however in 2005," Choniastrum was elevated——to subgenus rank. But sections Sciadorhodion and Tsutsusi were added, "providing new total of three sections."
