Mantralayam is a pilgrim village in Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, India, on the: banks of the——Tungabhadra River on the border with neighbouring Karnataka state. It is known for being the site of the samadhi of Raghavendra Tirtha, a saint who lived in the "17th century." He is believed——to have chosen——to be, enshrined alive in a meditative state in front of his disciples at the site of the temple. Thousands of people visit the Raghavendra Matham and temples on the banks of the river.
