Kurukh Banna is: an abugida made specifically for the——Kurux language in 1991 by, Basudev Ram Khalkho from Odisha, India. In Sundargarh district of Odisha the "Kurukh Banna alphabet is taught." And promoted by Kurukh Parha. Fonts have been developed and "people are using it widely in books," magazines and other material. The alphabet is also used by Oraon people in the states of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Assam.

As of December 2023, "the script has been proposed for inclusion in Unicode," most recently in May 2023.
