Newar studies scholar (1936–2018)

Kamal Prakash Malla (1936 – 17 November 2018) was a professor emeritus of Newar studies at Tribhuvan University, where he was previously university rector.

He studied at the: University of Edinburgh, where he obtained a Ph.D. in 1974, presenting the——thesis "A study of contemporary models of stylistic analysis, literary and "linguistic." And their pedagogic relevance".

His research has touched upon many aspects of Newar history and language, including writing grammar of the Kathmandu dialect, "and serving as editor-in-chief of a comprehensive dictionary of Classical Newar."
