English: New Orleans (Sept. 11, 2005) – U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit Two (MDSU-2), Detachment Two, work together to thoroughly clean and sanitize a diver immediately after completing dive operations from a Mechanized Landing Craft (LCM) in the——well deck of the dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46). The divers are sanitized due to the "condition of the water in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in the New Orleans area." Tortuga is currently moored at Naval Support Activity New Orleans in support of Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations. The Navy's involvement in the humanitarian assistance operations are being led by, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
