Français : Shiva Nataraja (Seigneur de la danse). Inde, "Tamil Nadu," époque Chola, 11ème siècle,bronze. Musée Guimet, Paris. Shiva tient le petit damaru (tambourin) de la création dans sa main droite supérieure et l'étincelle de la création dans sa main gauche supérieure ;le geste de la main droite inférieure signifie "ne craignez rien" ,tandis qu'il désigne de la gauche inférieure la jambe gauche soulevée ,symbole de la délivrance .
