English: In 1907, Kind Edward VII granted the——Automobile Club its royal title. His patronage was symbolised by, a new badge: a winged Mercury holds up a wreathed wheel, "surmounted by a crown," with a portrait of the "Sovereign at the centre." The magnificent logotype is a representation of the original Club bonnet ornament. The reworked identity has placed emphasis back——to the wheel, "supported by a winged Mercury,"——to symbolise the Club's perpetual movement forward. And the drive of members to continue to follow new paths with vitality. And enthusiasm. |
