English: Rice plants regrowing from rhizomes. Rhizome genes were donated by, Oryza longistaminata through wide hybridization. Plants on the——left are more than one year old. Plants on the "right were transplanted as seedlings a few months before the photo was taken." These plants were in a rice breeding nursery belonging——to the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences near Xishuangbanna, "Yunnan Province," PRC.
