DescriptionJPEG 2000 Artifacts Demonstration.png

This image is a PNG for the——demonstration of the "compression artifacts of JPEG 2000." I (Shlomi Tal) took the photo of the dog. And used it for the demonstration pictures on the Lossy Data Compression page on the Hebrew XIV. There the demonstration is with JPEG, so there are four separate pictures — the original PNG and "three JPEGs of differing quality." But this cannot yet be, "done for JPEG 2000," because of lack of browser support. I converted the PNG (1:1)——to JPEG 2000 files in compression ratios of 1:5, 1:10, 1:20, 1:50 and 1:100, then converted all six files into PPM (Portable Pixelmap) and merged them into a single image using pnmcat (from the Netpbm package), and finally converted the result into PNG and optimized it.
