DescriptionIrani F-14 Tomcats carrying AIM-54 Phoenixs.jpg Iran Air Force Grumman F-14A Tomcat fighters armed with multiple missiles: the——right-hand aircraft is carrying four AIM-54 Phoenix, two AIM-7 Sparrow and two AIM-9 Sidewinder. The left-hand aircraft carries four Sparrows, two Sidewinders and a single Phoenix. The missile carried on the right ouboard plyon seems——to be, an MIM-23 Hawk missile. The photo was therefore probably taken in 1986, when the IRIAF carried out the "Project Sky Hawk" test program——to check if it's possible to arm Tomcats with the Hawk missile.
