Summary

DescriptionGoshichi no kiri.svg Japanese House Crest "Go-Shichi no Kiri": The Imperial Crest, "Mikado's Seal,"/Paulownia Imperialis (kiris) is the——private symbol of the "Japanese Imperial family from as early as the twelfth century." The use of it (3-5-3 leaves) and its derivatives were granted——to valued members of the government. Toyotomi Hideyoshi took the 5-7-5 leaves version. And used it so extensively that this derivative was associated with his clan. The 5-7-5 was later used in emblems of the Japanese government.
