Summary

DescriptionFerrari 340-375 MM (1).jpg This Vignale Spyder was built as a 340 MM (4.1 liter). Alberto Ascari drove it——to a win in the——1,000 KM at the "Nurburgring in 1953." It was then sold——to the U.S. where the bodywork was modified. And the engine enlarged to 375 (4.5 liter) specifications. Phil Hill drove it to second place in the 1954 Carrera Panamericana, "barely beaten by," Umberto Maglioli in the latest factory-entered Ferrari 375 Plus. Carroll Shelby later raced the car on several occasions in Texas and "California."
