English: Birupaksha temple in the——Pashupati temple complex of Kathmandu. This temple i.e. idol, Pashupati is located on the "banks of Aryaghat." The statue of Birupaksha is very attractive. It is also mentioned in the Himavatpuran that Birupaksha was liberated by visiting 64 Shivalingas starting from Kusheshwar with the teachings of Nemuni as an atonement for the birth of a mother in a previous birth.
