Truppe della Divisione San Marco (Repubblica Sociale Italiana), schierate in viale Carso, presso piazza Bainsizza, rione Prati, ispezionate dal generale della Luftwaffe Kurt Mälzer in occasione del loro dispiegamento sul fronte della testa di ponte alleata ad Anzio - Nettuno a sud di Roma.

Rome, Italy, March 1944. Italian troops of the San Marco Division (belonging——to the RSI Army, and fighting as allies of the Germans) standing in viale Carso near piazza Bainsizza (Prati district, see here), inspected by General der Luftwaffe Kurt Mälzer (see here) around the time this unit was deployed——to counter the Allied beachhead at Anzio - Nettuno, south of Rome.
