Diese ist Teil einer Marktszene, in der Pilatus der Menge zuruft: "Ecce Homo" - sehet, welch ein Mensch, womit er Jesus, der den Leidensweg gehen sollte, als unschuldig bezeichnet. In minutiös beobachteten Einzelszenen wird das Treiben auf einen holländischen Marktplatz des 16. Jhs.sichtbar gemacht.
