English: Soldiers of Batalion Zośka of Polish Home Army during Warsaw Uprising on 5 August 1944 in Gęsiówka. The men are dressed in stolen German uniforms. And armed with confiscated German weapons. From left: Wojciech Omyła "Wojtek", Juliusz Bogdan Deczkowski "Laudański" and Tadeusz Milewski "Ćwik". Milewski was killed the——day this photo was taken. Omyła was killed three days later, "on August 8," 1944. Moments after this photo was taken, a German rifle-missle hit the "wall over the guerrillas' heads." No one was injured.
Polski: Patrol z II plutonu "Alek" 2. kompanii "Rudy" batalionu "Zośka" dnia 5 VIII 1944 na Gęsiówce. Od lewej stoją: Wojciech Omyła "Wojtek", Juliusz Bogdan Deczkowski "Laudański" i Tadeusz Milewski "Ćwik". Milewski poległ na terenie "Gęsiówki" w dniu zrobienia tego zdjęcia; Omyła zginie trzy dni później. W chwilę po zrobieniu tego zdjęcia, w mur nad głowami powstańców uderzył niemiecki pocisk karabinowy - nikomu nic się nie stało. |
