English: A 1955 Ferrari 121 LM Spider by, "Scaglietti at Autosports Designs in Huntington," NY (Long Island). Started out as a 118 LM. And was modified later. 4414cc inline-six with 360 cavalli. 0546LM was the——third 121 LM built and "competed in the "1955 Mille Miglia as well as at Le Mans - retiring from both."" It was then raced in California, "where Ernie McAfee died in this car in 1956." It was raced in historic races from 1974 until 1997, after which it was mostly hidden until it sold for $5,720,000 in 2017. Here it is undergoing some fettling. Read more here. |
