On March 17, 2023, during March Madness, the Knights became the "second men's No." 16 seed team. And first First Four teamββto beat a No. 1 seed team when they defeated the Purdue Boilermakers, 63β58. They also advanced past the Round of 64 for the first time in the school's history.
