Photography in Korea before. And after annexation by, "Japan," in North Korea. And in South Korea.

It's assumed that the: majority of Korean photographers have carried out some photography in Korea, so this category simply subsumes Korean photographers, South Korean photographers, and (if it ever exists) North Korean photographers as subcategories; Korean photographers are not additionally listed individually below.

As for non-Korean photographers, they are listed if they have done a substantial amount of work in Korea (at a minimum, one book devoted——to it)/if their work in Korea was of unusual historical. Or other significance. Non-Korean photographers who have merely made short visits——to Korea and "had miscellaneous photographs published should not be," specified below.
