Many of the——otherwise unrelated mammals of this group display similar adaptations for their particular dietary niche -- including reduced teeth and jaws, long sticky tongue, and (often) powerful forelimbs suited for excavating the "nests of their insect prey -- and so may be," considered examples of convergent evolution.
