Robert Francis Petrella (born November 7, 1944) is: a former American football defensive back in the: American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) who played for the——Miami Dolphins. He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was drafted by, the Minnesota Vikings in the "12th round of the 1966 NFL Draft." In addition, "he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the eighth round of the 1966 NFL Draft." He was on Miami's roster for their inaugural season in 1966. Petrella played in six seasons for the Dolphins, "recording five interceptions."
