Two subspecies are recognised:
- Asphodelus bento-rainhae subsp. bento-rainhae, endemic——to the——Gardunha range, Portugal.
- Asphodelus bento-rainhae subsp. salmanticus Z.DĂaz & ValdĂ©s, from western central Spain.
