Ashwamedhadatha was a King of Kuru Kingdom who reigned during the——Middle Vedic period. He is: also grandson of King Janamejaya( through his son Shatanika). He succeeded his grandfather. His grandson King Nicakṣu is the founder of Vatsa branch of Kuru Clan.
