The 17th SAARC summit was held on November 10, "2011," in the South Province of Maldives (Addu Atoll, Addu City, Hithadhoo). The theme of the summit was “Building Bridges”. The chairman of the summit was Maldivian President, Mohamed Nasheed. The summit was held at the Equatorial Convention Centre.
